Madison, Indiana Information
rule

The Madison area is a great place to live and conduct business. Its people are warm and friendly, and the Hoosier work ethic is strong.  Roots run deep as many families have lived in this community for several generations.

Additionally, the area continues to preserve its 19th century heritage as a quaint, beautiful and living reminder of bygone riverport communities.  Founded in 1809, Madison has 133 city blocks of its downtown area listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The downtown area is seeing an ever-increasing rate of tourism and the commerce it brings.

In addition to Madison's thriving downtown area, the Madison "hilltop" area is home to several industries, as well as commercial businesses.  Madison is served by both state and federal highways and is only a half-hour away from one of the nation's most heavily traveled north-south interstate routes — I-65.  Madison is on the southern border of the golden triangle of Midwestern commerce with its points being Indianapolis, Indiana; Louisville, Kentucky and Cincinnati, Ohio.  All three of these cities have excellent airport facilities. Louisville is home to the major national/international UPS hub.  The Ohio River continues to serve as a major commerce route as well.
