Galen Bremmer
Galen Bremmer is the Executive Vice President of the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce, and the newest member of our team, coming to us from a similar position in Wabash, Indiana. He has a bachelor of science degree from Illinois College. Galen has served in managerial positions in a variety of retail environments, including hardware, department stores and newspapers, and brings a strong background in financial analysis to his role here. Since arriving in February 2006, he has made himself active in the kitchen management team, providing both support and advice to our clients.

William Cord
SBDC Business Advisor Bill Cord brings an extensive background in both business and education to his counseling role. He served as a high school principal in Carroll County, Kentucky from 1979-1997, and has also served as a bank manager. Bill is currently involved in a number of successful ventures in the areas of agriculture, real estate and business.

Jim Grant
Jim Grant brings a wide variety of business experience to his role as SBDC business advisor. Currently the owner of multiple successful local businesses in the hospitality and tourism industries, Jim has also served as USA Director of Sales and Marketing in the furniture and gift industries. He has 10 years of experience in the food service industry in roles ranging from maitre d' to owner/manager of family-run restaurants, and has been instrumental in the development of culinary arts and management courses within the hospitality industry.

Richard Mezoff
Richard is our kitchen manager, and an SBDC Business Advisor in the area of specialty foods. He has a Master of Arts degree, and is a graduate of the Food Processors' Institute Better Process Control School. He has operated a successful specialty foods business for over 9 years, including the production of sauces, salsas and dry rubs, performing personal chef work, and running a small, upscale restaurant. Richard is available to help our entrepreneurs with all aspects of specialty food production and marketing.

Andy Sons
SBDC Business Advisor Andy Sons has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, and is currently completing his Master's degree at the University of Louisville. He has 12 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, and with his wife, Melissa, has operated a successful cosmetology salon since 2001. Andy is available to help our entrepreneurs with all phases of business and marketing plans, and is our financial specialist.

Linda Wood
Linda Wood is the Regional Director for the Southeastern Indiana Small Business Development Center and covers a sixteen-county region in Southern and Southeastern Indiana. A graduate of Indiana University, she was formerly a Budget Analyst for the US Army at Jefferson Proving Ground in Indiana. Linda and her staff at the SBDC assist many types of entrepreneurial business ventures, but the project that has sparked her interest in the tri-state area is the creation of the Ohio River Valley Food Venture kitchen incubator.

Jeff Garrett, 1955-2005
Until his death on Oct. 30, 2005, Jeff Garrett was the manager of the Venture Out Business Center, which hosts the Ohio River Valley Food Venture. He also served as Executive Director of the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce.

Jeff had extensive experience in both the private and non-profit sectors. He started and managed three businesses in Indianapolis. He was involved in the start-up of Madison's Venture Out Business Center when he was president of the Indiana Small Business Development Corporation.

Jeff was the first director of this region's Small Business Development Center. Prior to becoming a Chamber professional, he was president of the Chamber, the Madison Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Madison Business and Professional Association and the Madison Regatta. He was a Madison city councilman for one term.

Jeff brought the idea of the Ohio River Valley Food Venture to fruition. It continues in his entrepreneurial spirit.
