The VOBC, located at 975 Industrial Drive, Madison, Indiana, houses several businesses, organizations and institutions benefiting from amenities offered to tenants. Services provided by the VOBC, which are included in the tenant’s monthly fee, include:

• 24-hour individually-keyed access to rented space • Facility receptionist • Basic utilities (gas heat, electric service, water and sewage) • Building insurance and real taxes paid • On-site business and management consultants through SBDC • Tenant kitchen • Professional business environment • Use of local fax machine • Use of shared photocopier • Postage machine • Basic building maintenance in common areas • Individual mailboxes with designated business address • Conference room with television/VCR (as available) • UPS/FedEx pickup and delivery

Statistics demonstrate that eight out of 10 new businesses starting up in America today will fail within the first five years due to improper planning, a lack of operating capital, or both. On the other hand, only two of 10 businesses utilizing incubators such as the local VOBC fail within the first five years. The local office of the Small Business Development Center is located at the VOBC, providing needed support for entrepreneurs.
